Each option has the same mandatory attendance laws that must be verified by the state. The second option is the more traditional home schooling option. This option requires the parent to establish a home education program by sending a 'Notice of Intent' to the local school-board superintendent. Also, along with the Notice of Intent, the parents will be required to maintain a portfolio of the child's work by logging all activities the child completes. The third option would be to hire a private tutor or establish a private tutoring program. This option will be just as costly as sending your child to school, but at least you will be in complete control of your child's surroundings and influences.
